The Beta is a slip- and oil- resistant shoe with an action leather upper making it an ideal choice for restaurant work. The Hoss Bubba style toe on this shoe flares wider on the outside making it the widest toe box ever created by Hoss. The fast rebound sculpted insole with arch support is coupled with a strobel board under the footbed with 2 mm of rebound foam. The combination of the insole and strobel board, along with the EVA midsole, will ensure you are comfortable throughout your workday. A cement constructed wedge outsole provides stability and support while keeping you safe with slip-resistant, oil-resistant, and electrical hazard ratings. This shoe is 100% non-metallic.

Great fit, poor grip

These shoes fit me fantastically, with a huge toe box. They are comfortable to wear for extended periods of time on my feet.

My only complaint is that the slip resistance is lacking, in my opinion. With these being advertised as chef shoes, I had higher hopes for their slip resistance. Don't get me wrong, they are definitely non slips and they serve the purpose of preventing you from taking serious falls due to a little water or grease on the floors, however, I find myself annoyed that if I take a lean against a counter, my feet will start to slowly slide out from underneath me. My work environment is particularly greasy with floors that need replaced, however, my previous non-slips from a local retailer which were less than half of the price of these performed better in the non slip department on these same exact floors, which makes me question if I would purchase these again.

The shoe is nice overall, but it's not as slip-resistant as I expected, especially for working in a kitchen environment.
